  • Guildford Pavilion The Sports Ground, Woodbridge Road Guildford GU1 4RP (map)

MICK FOSTER QUINTET -CELEBRATING GERRY MULLIGAN

Mick Foster’s fantastic Quintet celebrates the music of acclaimed jazz musician, composer and arranger Gerry Mulligan and the “cool” West Coast Jazz style of the early 1950s, especially the original 1952-53 recordings with Chet Baker which would prove enormously influential and set the groundwork for many others groups.

With Mick Foster (baritone sax), Paul Higgs (trumpet), Rob Barron (piano), Marianne Windham (bass), Tristan Mailliot (drums)

“…a very nicely constructed evening, varying in speed and intent. Mick's rapport with the audience was excellent.. and the sound makes you grin. They had a great time on stage. We had a great time in the audience.” David Lyons, Fleece Jazz
